The Avanavero Falls are right next to Wannawiro, in the untouched rainforest of West Suriname. At high water the island is surrounded by rushing rapids; at low water large rock formations and sandbanks appear. Even at low water there is enough water at Wannawiro to enjoy the river. Safety comes first: the rapids and rocks can be dangerous. Always follow the instructions of the manager and your guides, and never enter the water on your own at risky spots.
